Introduction

Aerosol Research and Engineering Laboratories is at the forefront of air quality testing, offering precise evaluations that help optimize and validate air purification technologies. Our recent in-depth study of a proprietary filtration device in a senior living community showcases our commitment to enhancing indoor environments through scientific rigor and technological expertise.

Comprehensive Air Quality Assessments

Our laboratories utilize comprehensive testing methodologies tailored to assess the effectiveness of air purification systems in real-world scenarios. In this study, we demonstrated our capabilities with:

  • Viable Bioaerosol Sampling: We used a customized sampling system equipped with three SKC Viable Impactors to capture airborne microorganisms across various agar media, ensuring a thorough air quality assessment before and after device activation.

  • Advanced Analytical Techniques: Using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, we identified and quantified specific microbial species, providing detailed insights into the types and concentrations of bioaerosols present.

  • Pre- and Post-Treatment Evaluation: The study measured a notable reduction in bioaerosols, with a 45% decrease in bacteria and a 28% decrease in fungal species, highlighting the air purification device's effectiveness in a populated senior living environment.

Expertise and Precision in Air Purification Testing

Aerosol Research and Engineering Laboratories excel in:

  • Targeted Bioaerosol Reduction Analysis: We specialize in quantifying how effectively air purifiers reduce pathogens in specific settings, which is crucial for environments like healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and senior care homes.

  • Detailed Reporting and Recommendations: Each testing project concludes with a comprehensive analysis, including but not limited to recommendations for optimizing air quality based on the specific characteristics and needs of the environment.

Tailored Testing for Optimal Results Understanding that each indoor environment has unique challenges, we customize our testing protocols to meet your specific requirements. Our testing involved:

  • Strategic Sampling Locations: Sampling was conducted in common areas within a senior living facility, including both high and low-traffic zones, to assess the device's performance across different environmental conditions.

  • Strategic Sampling Times: Sampling was conducted during similar times of day to avoid the effects of different activities that may have affected air quality.

  • Continuous Monitoring and Control: Ensuring consistency and accuracy, our technicians meticulously managed the sampling process, maintaining the integrity of the study from setup to conclusion.
