Established in March 2009 and headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, ARE Labs Inc., originally known as Aerosol Research and Engineering Laboratories Inc., was conceived as a dedicated lab offering high-quality, independent studies in the field of aerosol. Since its creation, ARE Labs Inc. has unwaveringly adhered to its primary objective of providing a comprehensive range of aerosol testing services that cover all facets of aerosol science. The lab's principal expertise consistently lies in the disciplines of biological and pharmaceutical aerosol programs, thereby positioning it as a crucial player in these domains.

History of ARE Labs

Founded in March 2009, ARE Labs is strategically located in the Kansas City metro area and has distinguished itself as a dedicated expert in the field of aerosol sciences. Our specialization has consistently focused on aerosol sciences since our inception, setting us apart from other laboratories and engineering firms.

The growth of ARE Labs has been marked by a systematic expansion of services, carefully planned from the beginning, to address a broader range of applications within aerosol science. This deliberate and phased enhancement of our capabilities continues to drive our evolution and commitment to excellence in our field.

General Aerosol Services (2009): The initial phase offered general particle size, filtration efficiency, and other aerosol services.

Bioaerosol Services (2010): Bioaerosol services allowed ARE Labs to address the growing need for testing in biological aerosol applications, further solidifying its market position.

Pharmaceutical Services (2012): Expansion into establishing a strong foundation in pharmaceutical aerosol testing, setting the stage for future growth.

Inhalation Services (2018): Inhalational aerosol testing added, setting the stage for future growth.

BSL3 Facilities (Planned 2027): We are planning significant enhancements, including the introduction of Biological Safety Level 3 (BSL3) facilities and programs, to expand our capabilities in bioaerosol and chemical aerosol testing. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the critical need for advanced testing with real human pathogens to develop effective mitigation strategies and promote safety. Incorporating BSL3 services demonstrates ARE Labs' commitment to advancing our comprehensive aerosol testing solutions, thereby elevating our capabilities and expanding our service offerings in the field of aerosol science.

Vaccine Studies (Future): Looking ahead, ARE Labs aims to integrate all aspects of its expertise—pharmaceutical, bioaerosol, and inhalation services—into extensive vaccine efficacy programs. This ambitious next step will combine the laboratory's full spectrum of services into large, comprehensive programs, further advancing its contribution to aerosol science and public health.
